I was out of town for a couple of weeks and when I returned I found that the battery on my 02 a4 1.8t (80k) had died. No bigggie had the battery replaced only now with a few "differences"

The "hood open indicator" is flashin when the car is in gear/driving and will sometimes go on/off...even though the hood is closed properly

and before when I locked the car with the fob the lights would flash and alarm chirp...it does not do this anymore.

if anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it!

 

Your key needs to be reprogrammed. Hold the lock button while you start the car and that should do it. Idk about the hood open indicator

 

I would check to make sure the sensor for the hood didn't get unplugged or something. I not too sure where it is but I would imagine its somewhere near the latch. I will check out the bently when i get home if you need.
