Default difference in fuel filters...

ok first off. i would get this direct from the dealer but the closest dealer is an hour away and i would never make it there by the time i got off work
2002 a4 1.8 fwd
i ordered a fuel filter from a place that gets parts from dealer. he ordered me a 8E0 201 511 j

the one on my audi is a 8E0 201 511 L. they looked identical. but we didnt know if there was a difference internally with pressure regulators. is there any difference? he claimed in his computer for my car it calls for a 8E0 201 511 g.

whats up with audi using different part numbers for identical parts...

In 02 there is a mid year split. Early 02 fwd would use 1H0-201-511-A, later 02 would use 8E0-201-511-L for fwd, the 8E0-201-511-J is for later 02-2005 quattro cars. The 8E0-201-511-G does supersede to 8E0201511L though.

I'd have him double check the part number he sold you from what his listing shows.
