Difficulty Starting????

I have a '02 1.8t. It is having a hard time starting. It turns over fine, but it sounds like it's either not getting fuel or spark.

Has anyone run into this issue and/or know what it could be

probably the engine speed sensor. has it died or given a check engine recently?

It's hasn't died or kicked out a check engine light. It is worse when it sits for a while.

Make sure there is fuel at the rail. Turn the key over and push the schrader valve at the end of the fuel rail.

Could also be a dirty throttle body..

So if the car doesn't start, it could be your fuel pump, if the car starts run diagnostics, it could be like shane suggests the speed sensor (G28) or the coolant temperature sensor.
