Hello. I have a 2004 Audi A4. The other day when I turned on the headlights I noticed that the interior lights on the panel were oddly dim. If I turn on the interior 'dome' light though they brighten right up like normal and then dim again when the 'dome' light is turned off. Any idea why this might be happening?

 

One possible factor might be the auto adjusting dimming feature. If you look at the Speedometer in the bottom corner there is a white dot. Based on the light it gets, the dash cluster adjusts. Try putting your hand on and off it, and it will pulse bright to dim.
