Default Engine code

So this might sound like a newbie question...Where do I find my engine code?

Clarifying remark: I do not have a CEL. I need to find a code to tell me what engine I have.

Your engine code is a 3 digit combo. Mine has the engine code embrossed on the top of the motor. (if I'm not mistaken its on the lift hook) mine is AMB, if you look at the top of your motor you may see it there
