Default 02 1.8t no start

Hi guys, i am having an issue with my 02 1.8t it decided it did not want to run anymore the other day in the middle of driving. It was breaking up if i even touched the gas, it was making a weird noise after i down shifted into 2nd around 15-20mph to slow down almost like hard plastic smacking together so i took it out of gear and the car died. It cranks but won't start, it makes little puffs every now and then if you crank but nothing like it wants to start. It never over heated, i have fuel, spark, all fuses are good. My neighbor has one of those carMD things so i plugged it in real quick and i got 328 and 333(knock sensor) 135 O2 and 420 Cat system... i did compression test but i think my tester is broken i didnt get anything above 35 and checked timing it looks less than 1tooth off but it could just be the angle im checking crank pulley at. Pretty much im just hoping its something simple i dont know much if anything at all about german cars i spent my time working on older DSM's which is cake compared to these. Update, just changed the cam position sensor....still no start.

thanks.

those codes like different then codes associated with audi. Take it to autozone and have them scan the car.

Thanks for the reply. But the car doesn't run and I don't have a trailer. Just ordered a vag-com code reader, but it won't be here until next week. Checked for fuel today, got plenty to the engine. Any other ideas?
