Hi, I'm new to this forum and was searching to see if someone could give me some advice. I just purchased a 2002 A4 3.0 quattrowith 98,000 miles about 4 weeks ago. After driving it these past few weeks I must say I am very satisfied until I ran into the a HUGE problem one evening coming out of work. It wouldn't start! It would crank and crank but wouldn't catch! I had the car towed to the Audi dealership and now they suggest I replace the engine because there is no compression detected which will cost $14,000!!!! I purchased the car for only $8,000!!! What should I do!!??? Just for them to look at the car for me is costing me $95/hour. Did I make a horrible purchase???

 

By the way, before my incident, my car never gave me any warnings and even when I tried to start it, no check engine light or anything came up, it just acted like it wanted to start, but never did...
