So after work I went outside to start my car due to it being like one degree. I had it running for about five mins. and got in the car and noticed the EPC icon and the ESP lights on the dash were illuminated and it was misfiring! Also I tried to accelerate in the parking lot to move it and the car would not accelerate at all. Does the car know that it is too cold to move or what?? What would cause this to happen? Now the car runs fine once it warmed up a bit but my check engine light is still on. Anyone know what happened here?? Thanks in advance!

 

If it happens again, turn the engine off and then turn it back on. If it magically drives fine with no misfires then its a problem with the engine mangement or the cruise control. In my car i would be driving on the freeway and i hit the cruise button, all the sudden the car would throw all kinds of warning lights and starts misfiring horribly, i would turn the engine off while i was still coasting and restart it, then it would run fine. If the ECM gets a wacked signal it kinda shuts down for some reason.
Now if the misfiring keeps happening get the fault codes checked with a vag com, it could be a blown coil pack.
