Default Check engine light and intermittant EPC light

I have 2005 A4 and the check engine light has come on for no reason (that I can tell, have not hooked it to VAG yet). And now the EPC light comes on a few minutes after the car or as I am driving down the road. Everything seems fine as I am driving dow the road (except the check engine light) and then all of a suddent the car stalls and restarts itself and the EPC light comes on and the power is reduced. If this happens at idle the car just stall and I have to restart it. It restarts but the EPC light stays on. Any ideas, I hear lots of discussion about the MAF and the crank pos sensor but was wondering if anyone has any experience with this situation?

You really need to pull codes. My guess is that you will find P0321 & P0322 (these point to a failed engine speed sensor) and then probably P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303 & P0304 (random misfires, cylinder 1, cylinder 2, etc.). If this is what you are finding.... Changing the engine speed sensor should clear up your issues.
