So if you stay at park and leave your car in park and dont move will the light still turn on. Or does it turn on once u touch the brake and put it into drive. If the problem only occurs while in drive and if your cruise control is not working and you are getting the esp light i would lean towards the brake light switch. Have you tried to scan your car yet?

No, I don't think so.

It typically comes on intermittently while driving.
I have not noticed whether this is due to touching the brake or not.

Understood.
I think the cruise is not working.
I'll have to test it this weekend.
If it is the brake light switch, how much do they cost, and is that something that I can replace myself?

Not yet. I need to reformat my lappy and purchase a cable.
Do you know which cable is the right one for my A4?
I have an 2005.5 B7 2.0L TFSI.

Thank you for the kind reply. Much appreciated.

rear abs sensor
has anyone ever changed a rear abs sensor in a B6 model? I have successfully changed the front abs sensor but the rear abs sensor is completely different. The connection disappears deep inside the car and I am unable to remove the old sensor on that side. Please advise.

I ordered this cable:
Amazon.com: OBD2 OBD II Diagnostic USB Cable For KKL409.1 VAG-COM 409: Camera & Photo
Should arrive soon.
I'll let you know when it arrives, and what I find.

What version/flavor of Windows should I install to be compatible with VAG-COM software?
I've heard folks say that it doesn't work on Windows 7 and that the software has trouble recognizing the USB port and that the port needs to be tweaked. Is this correct?

i have windows vista. so it worked like a charm. Basically the ports have to match up from your device manager and through the vagcom program. If u get unrecongnized port just switch your plug to a different usb outlet. Then go in a switch the com port in device manager and vagcom. If u run into any problems pm me and ill walk u through as best i can.
