Force limp mode?
Not trying to pull anything. Just trying to get it to the shop. Okay, here's the long story:
I have a bad Engine Speed Sensor. It sometimes works, when the engine is dead cold, but it's rare. When it's not working, the engine will only start if it's in limp mode, but the computer won't drop into limp unless the engine is actually running.
I reset the trouble code and took it out of limp, and now it won't start. It's bizarre - it needs to be in limp mode to start ... but it only initiates limp mode when the engine is running.
If I can't get it started, and can't force it into limp mode, I need a tow to the shop ($$, because the shop is about 30 miles away).
Make more sense?
