While replacing a check valve today i realized that the firewall end of my fuel rail has threads and an opening but nothing on it. I dont have a fuel leak there but it seems like something should be there.

It is a schrader valve(valve stem). It allows the dealer to check the fuel pressure. If you look at it closely you will noticed the stem in the center.
