Default GIAC FX, Tiptronic - Is new exhaust worth it for just performance gains?

I posted this at another forum, but wanted to get the take of everyone here:

Like the title says, would it be worth it for me to get a new exhaust and HFC if I'm just looking for performance gains? I'm pretty much looking at around $1,200 for the whole thing, so I'm just wondering what the consensus is - if it's worth that much money.

Thanks.

ps - i'm not looking for exhaust options, cost, etc. Just whether a turbo-back exhaust is worth it purely from a performance standpoint.

Sicne you are already chipped I'm going to say yes, you will notice is more than if you were to put an exhaust on a stock car. Which is what I did so I didn't get to feel the huge amount of difference an exhaust could potentially give a chipped car.

Its all restricted up in that b*tch right now, I would highly suggest getting a fully exhaust and especially a HFC!

Others might disagree, but when you look at mods that you have to do to continue modding, exhaust is definitely high on the list. Do it to it, and get back to us[8D]

It will def. be worth it. You could always get a custom job for cheeper as well. I got chipped with giac and injectors, amonth after I got exhaust and it was a world of diff. do it!

If i already got an exhaust (not a cat-back) how would the sound change if i put a downpipe??? There is no CEL because of the DP???

if you have an excause you should have gotten a new downpipe as well. They normally do from the cat back with new exhaust systems.

Well i got a custom exhaust 2.5" to th Y-pipe and 2.25" to the 14851's muffler with no Resonators, thats why i'm interested in a sound with a downpipe.
