Default Is this a Good Deal?

Hello all. I'm looking at buying a B6 (or possibly B7) A4 Quattro manual 5/6 speed. I've read through this forum's newbie guide, which was very helpful, but have some additional questions.

I found what looks to be a good deal (see details below), but considering the mileage, would like to know what I should be looking for in regards to parts that go out around this mileage for this year and model (i.e. timing belt). I am trying to avoid buying into problems. The newbie guide lists a bunch of problems that go wrong on Audi's in general across different years (timing belt, water pump, oil sludge, etc.), but I'm interested in which of these problems are specific to the B6 and if there are any additional problems not listed that I should be aware of before purchasing a B6.

Details:

2003 Audi A4 3.0 quattro Sedan
Price $10,779 (Kelley Blue Book: $13,160)
Mileage 82,730
Body Style Sedan
Exterior Color Pearlescent Blue
Interior Color Black
Engine 6 Cylinder Gasoline
Transmission 6 Speed Manual
Drive Type All wheel drive
Fuel Type Gasoline
Stereo Bose Sound System
Doors Four Door

Basically:

-What potential problems/fixes do I need to know about based on this model, year, and mileage?
-Is this a good deal?
-Is it worth it to invest 5 - 6k more in a B7 over a B6?

Drop some knowledge on me!

Edit: Forgot to add the Kelley Blue Book retail value for the above B6 I'm looking at: http://www.kbb.com/used-cars/audi/a4...&mileage=83000

well our timing belts are suppose to be changed around 75000 miles. mighteswell have them do the waterpump and gaskets while they have the car torn apart. also check the ps pump and seals as they tend to leak. other then that i think the 3.0's are pretty solid otherwise unless so meone can speak from their own expirence with their problems.

there is really not much you can do to a 3.0 to build more HP. With the 1.8t, your options are endless. With a relatively inexpensive and easy upgrade to the 1.8t you will have more HP than the 3.0 but yet still get much better fuel mileage. But, not everyone is interested in mod'ing their car. Just wanted to point that out.
