Your ECU can see the resistance values across the bulbs are not what they should be according to factory set value. I have read about this but mostly for the l.e.d lights and the fix is adding a resistor in the line. I'm not 100% about the HID fix. The lights work correctly, you're just getting the warning for a "bulb out" correct?

well before i had it hooked up to the stock headlight harness with capacitor. i was getting the BOW if the ballast wouldnt start. i was also getting esp light occasionally and when turning headlight on it would also reset the climate control, like it would turn off and on. this is why i did the relay harness but still getting a BOW now all the time.

wow i never heard it referred to as bow. . . Either way u make sure all your connections are snug. your light does not flicker or anything does it? HAve u tried sticking regular bulbs in to verify its the hids causing this problems? I would do that first and see if the problem disappears. Also what kit did you buy? Dont tell me it was off of ebay????

I had the situation when I installed my HIDs in the headlights. I had to buy a set of canbus Canceler modules. I purchased my HID kit from HID Kit, HID Conversion Kit, HID Headlight Kit for Cars & Trucks at HIDNation.com
I was getting an ABS, BRAKE AND ESP light turning and speedometer wouldnt work. Or just the ESP light on. Take a look at the site
