I'm having the same problem, bad beep speaker. I'm curious if you found the problem? Mine is a 2005 A4. If it was the beep speaker, as you and I suspect, is it accessible?

 

I have a B7 A4 and was told by the dealer the cost to fix this would be 1000 dollars. Electrical gremlins...

Is there a DIY solution?

 

door lock assembly is the problem. The contact switch inside the door lock has failed. Since it is a complete unit, the only way to correct this is to replace the left door lock assembly. This is a very common issue with both VW and Audi.

Apologies I meant the drivers door assembly, i found it on an American site. I don't have instructions sorry

 

It looks no one has solve the problem with detail explanation.
I think it’s the bad beep speaker at the back of the instrument cluster, but not able to have anyone to confirm it so far.

 

Try to work on it and could not get any progress on it..
