Help buying a used Audi A4
I have been looking for cars for some time and i stumbled across a 2001 Audi A4 Quattro 2.8 with 141,000 miles on it for $4,500. It needs some of the outer trim replaced, the information center on the gauge cluster is bad, the radio is in safe mode, and it has a pretty rough idle. It does however have dual power, heated, and leather front seats, Bose sound, and the body(trim pieces aside) is in good shape. I was wondering if for starters this is a good deal because i am on a rather limited budget, and also how much roughly it would cost to have it all in working order. thanks
Don't do it to yourself. You say you're on a limited budget? Then take the $4500 and buy a Honda. I am dead serious. If you are on a limited budget that may mean a couple things, #1 you are not going to be paying the Dealer to repair it. #2 You may not have a grand or so for the proper repair manual and vag-com (ross-tech) diagnostic equipment. Not to mention some special tools.
These cars are a headache to own if they are in mint condition. One that clearly is in a little disrepair could be way more than even someone with a slightly fat wallet could truly afford.
