HELP!! Car Died :(
Hey everyone,
I think my battery ran out of juice this morning due to me parking it outside everyday in -2 weather. So basically I called up the local Audi dealer and they said it is $114 for the battery itself but with labor it is 210 plus tax. This is where I was about to say, "okay, ill just do it myself". Well, before I could get those words out the guy that I was talking to said, "whenever swapping batteries the car's main computer needs to be reset and the throttle adjusted, so if you do it yourself your car will not work properly". Can anyone verify this? Truth or car dealer BS?

thats just the dealer bs , youll need a 6 inch extension and i think its a t30 or 35 torx socket to release the battery hold down and a 10 mm socket for the terminals, and also go to a local napa store and buy their battery theyre exide batteries so they are good and cost fairly cheap i think my ran me about 75.
just happened to me as well - wouldn't even try to turn over and got EPC and engine light so thought it was more than the battery. Cost me $275 for battery and my cowl drain clogged up and was frozen and shorted out two relays so there's another $650 - ouch! never going to dealer again...

Dealerships are always out to make a quick buck. I just picked my car up from the dealership here in Tampa. They wanted to charge me 827.00+tax to replace the fan control module. (the part is ~$200 and it takes like 30 minutes to do)
