Default Help..Changed battery and now electrical issues

My battery died and had AAA come out and change it.Once I got in my car the windows, internal lights, sunroof, locks do not work and truck wont open..I did have a fuse blown number 37 intelligent power module and replaced with 30A. I know its a 20A but I figured I would see if this would work and it did not...Any suggestions? Thank you!!!!

Definatley put the correct fuse in first and check. Why did you put in a fuse bigger than what's supposed to be there? I've never heard of putting in the wrong fuse size and something still working but then again electrical stuff is not my strong point. Anyone else have any ideas?

There is a TSB that specifies using a 30A fuse for the Intelligence module (fuse 37).

Im sorry what is the TSB? Fuse 37 is 20A that was what was in the fuse when I was checking to see if there was anything blown. So what you are saying is I need to use a 30A? That is what I have in it already.? Im desperate to fix this issue... Thank you!!!

TSB stands for technical service bulletin. Basically, it is a procedure for correcting issues that occur that don't warrant a recall. In the case of this TSB, a bunch of people were blowing fuse 37 for some reason. Audi must have looked at what is powered off of that fuse and determined that it is OK to replace the lower rated fuse with a 30A and that it wouldn't cause any problems. It is generally not recommended to replace a fuse with a higher rated one (unless it's in the short term and the higher rated fuse is all you have) this is because higher current is needed to blow the higher rated fuse. This may result in damage to the component that the fuse is protecting because it will either see higher current than the maximum it was designed for.

In your case, putting a 30A fuse in place of a 20A wasn't the cause of the problem.

Steve B67-

Thank you for your response. You are correct, putting the fuse in 37 was a short term fix to see if this was the problem ultimately. The problem started after my dead battery was replaced with a new battery which was installed by AAA. I found that fuse 37 was blown after the battery was installed. I cannot figure out what happened during the installation of the new battery that the power windows, sunroof, all internal lights, locks of the car stopped working. Everything was just fine until the battery was replaced. I found fuse 37 blown after this.....

You may need to get your car scanned at the dealer or an independent shop that has Vag-Com, Could be that your Central Convenience Module is dead.
