hi guys i currently own a b5 this is my second one.i love audis . but im thinking of getting a b6 but dont really know which one like what time of engine? quattro or fwd? what year? you know the whole deal thank you

 

1.8t quattro for the win. any year between 02 to 05 is great... the later the more updates.




suck isnt all that because there isnt much modding you can do to it. and get the quattro and watch the difference in handling!


also get the one with the lower (sport) suspension the non sport's understeer is .....crap

Ive only owned one a4 and its the 05 I drive now, but Ive seen a lot of posts on here of people complaining of issues with their earlier year b6. I would stick with atleast an 05, but thats just my opinion. Definately 1.8tq though.

 

def 1.8tq, and you gotta have the sport package.looks and handles a LOT better than base.

 

i have the 3.0 V6 and love it, i would consider what you want to do with your B6 and then driving both to see which you like more. If you don't plan on modding the car and just want something that has some good go to it, id recommend the 3.0 since there are not many performance parts for it. If you plans are to mod the car so it can run say 13's or so or want to tinker with modding the car then a 1.8t is more up your alley. i would also recommend for either motor to get the sports package like other have said, it looks nicer and also will handle better.

 

Going along with everyone else it really depends on what your looking for. If you want to mod then 1.8 but if you want more luxury features then the 3.0 is your better choice. I had no plans to mod but wanted an entry level luxury car, my 3.0 has the wood trim, xenons, bose, upgraded leather, auto folding mirrors, ect. I think it's possible to get a few of these options on the 1.8 but almost all 3.0's I looked at came with all the bells and whistles.

I have a b6 1.8t. I love the car(with a few exceptions). However if I were to get another b6, I'd go for the 3.0. I'm not really feeling the audi little single turbos. Just between you and me, they aren't that great. Be prepared for a turbo replacement. I see it happen all the time for those motors.
