Help with convertible part name!
My son totally screwed up his convertible top. The part where you put the manual key to unlatch the top (front) is stripped and cannot be opened. We need to replace that part, but can't figure out the name of the unit. It appears that there are two "arms" that come off of it going to each pillar. A mechanic said the part is $1,400.00, but wouldn't give us the name of it. Any ideas? Thanks!
Hi.
It's known as the " top lock mechanism". If in doubt, just say it's the part that secures the roof to the windscreen frame.
I'm pretty sure it's not anything like $1400! Is he quoting that as supply and fit? If so it's still way too much. Go to a dealer and enquire yourself.
