Default Help with Diode!

The other day I did the diode mod on my 03 a4. The problem I'm having is whenever it gets to around 18psi the car starts to misfire. The more gas I give and the higher the rpm the less it seems to miss. It really only happens when I am in 4th or 5th gear. I tried putting new plugs in it and the problem did,t go away. I also have a check engine light says turbocharger underboost. Also it boosts a bit higher and spool better when the throttle is depreesed 3/4 of the way as aposed to wide open. I am currentl using a cheap boost controller until I order a turboxs one. Thanks for the help and please nobody tell me to get a chip. I have plans to eventually go GT28rs.
