Homelink HELP!!!
Ok here is the story - cannot get my homelink to program. I believe it is because the car I just purchased was in a front end collision. I believe that is where the transceiver is in the A4???. So is there anyone who knows 1) where it is located or supposed to be located under the hood or 2) can it be programmed some other way?
Thanks in advance for the help.
PS it is a 2003 A4 3.0 with 70k on the clock. Another sad story - it needs a CAT - sucks since i have the car 1 week - oh well the price was right
thanks again

I bought my daughter a 2003 A4 3.0 MT6 three years ago with 69k miles. Here are two possible pieces of good news for you. There was a TSB for the coilpacks. If you have had coilpack problems they will be replaced for free or you can be reimbursed (email me at jjaiven@chartermi.net if you need a copy of the letter). BUT, as part of the coilpack check they determined we needed new catalytic converters and they are covered under oem warranty to 80k miles. Since the car had 79,600 at that moment, I was very grateful. It now has 93k miles.

The transceiver on my 02 A4 is behind the front bumper on the passenger side. If memory serves, you can get to it by removing the passenger side headlight assembly. I would guess it is in the same place on your 03 A4.
I had a problem with my homelink a few years ago and found the problem to be a broken wire between the transceiver and the connector on the other end, which is located in driver's side footwell area inside the car. From the transceiver, the wires run along the inside of the front bumper towards the driver's side. My broken wire as at the midpoint of the bumper.
I don't know any alternative way to program the homelink system.
