Homelink
Has anyone had any trouble with their cars Homelink? Mine just started cutting out recently. It will work, then the next time malfunction, and do nothing, and then the next time work again. I have an appointment to get it looked at, but with my luck, it will be working again when the tech looks at it. My Jetta was like that, something would not work, or would be going bad, and when the car was taken in, the problem would away, and a few days later, it would come back.

Well, the problem is going to be....... the Tech can only check the syncronization of the remote and your car.
If you have a revolving code for your opener this can even prove to be difficult.
Your best bet is to go to homelink.com and browse their FAQ and programming guide.

I had a similar problem and basically I did a complete wipe and reprogram of the Homelink and it fixed my sporadic door homelink issues and have not had any problems since. I have heard that the revolving code type doors will give you more problems. Good suggestion in going to homelink FAQ page.

My opener is so old that it is not a rolling code one. My parents is, and is programed into button 2. I tried clearing the homelink when it was malfunctioning, by pressing and holding buttons 1 and 3, for 20 seconds, but the light would not blink and nothing would reset. Interestingly enough, the last time it malfunctioned, it started working right after I used jumpercables to jump my brothers car. I am guessing that the jumping had nothing to do with it working again.
