I tried searching but couldn't find the answer.

Today, I didn't have much time to warm up my car. Let her sit for a few minutes but still wasn't warmed up.

I put it in reverse but it didn't move when I let off the brake. I tapped the gas and it jumped into gear and jumped back. Lucky no one was behind.

It doesn't seem to do that when I let it warm up.

I hope its nothing really and I'm just trippin'

 

Have it serviced. I know Audi says life time fluids but that is BS! The dealer will service it if you ask.

 

That's what I heard. Any idea how much it is?

 

Adding on top of this. Should change the diff oil too?

 

I had my transmission serviced for a little over $200, fluid, gasket and filter. I had to go back because I forgot about the diff which was another $70-$90 I don't remember. It wasn't as cheap as I thought it would be, but I definitely wasn't doing it, I'm lazy.

 

I have heard of this happening with the auto trans cars when the seals inside the trans get old and harden up. What happens is they get more pliable and seal better when the fluid is warmed up. This heats the rubber seal up as well. But when cold the seals don't perform as they should. This may not be the problem on your car, but it was the problem on a friends old 5000 fwd car he had at the time.

 

Well I got my transmission fluid and filter changed out today. I notice a big difference already on shifting. Seems good so far!
