How can I clean my fuel system?
So I brought my 05 audi a4 to a garage to get my fuel system clean. They replied that they can not clean my fuel system in risk of blowing the turbo. ????? REALY!!!! When I brought my 04 jetta gli 1.8T to this place they use to always clean my fuel system. Is there something I'm missing here? How can i clean my fuel system, injectors myself? additives? any help here is greatly appreciated.
thanks.. but i was suggest by some other audi people to never use additives. they said to just replace the fuel filter.. ?? aye! i'm just going to try the seafoam because it sounds cheaper, but hopefully i wont be paying for it down the road.
I actual did a fuel injection cleaning service on my car through wal-mart...I kno a tech there, they have something that shoots the cleaner through my valves...he just did it really slow at a droplet speed so it wouldn't damage my turbo....the car felt great after I noticed the difference
Your question was about cleaning the fuel system and replacing the fuel filter isn't cleaning it. However, you're on the right track. Buy a fuel filter (~$45) and replace it. I did mine @ like 75k and I think it was a bit late. I think I'll be doing it every 50k.
Lastly, I don't really consider seafoam to be an additive like octane booster or something. A lot of people have run it through their 1.8t and had success with it for things like rough idle and such.

It gets clogged over time and is the recommended first step when you start to hear the pump making a noise from the passenger side rear seat at startup.

Well, i watched how to use SeaFoam on youtube it seamed pretty harmless. I was going to go buy two cans at autozone, but decided to stop by Firestone where my cousins work. They said that at 50K miles I shouldn't need one and to not get it done at firestone where he worked because it's too much for something not really even noticable. I'm at 50K miles and just thought I would try it but if I don't need to yet then perhaps I'll hold off. I'm just trying maintain my audi before hand so i wont have to fix it down the road. Besides, choking the engine and trouble starting it up again as i have seen on youtube made me hesitate about trying seafoam.. But I think I'll try it out after work today.
