2005 A4 B6 1.8 Avant Wagon. When the sun beats down on my rear hatch it will not open. It will open once cooled down. I want to take off the interior panel of the rear hatch to see what is causing the problem, but can't figure out how to get it off. Do any of you wizards know how to do this and/or know what is causing the problem. Help would be highly appreciated. Thank you and good motoring.

did you ever get a reply? I have an 04 Avant and the rear hatch latch will not respond to the key fob or the door-in-key unlock sequence. It works with the key. I think I need to replace the latch solenoid activated mechanism, but need to get at it to trouble shoot it.
please share any response and thanks.

 

The wiring in the hatch tends to get messed up over time with corrosion. A small leak into the hatch or a leaky washer fluid line for example.
