I used 2 indy shops and both of them are specialized in Audi. One is in Newark and the other is in NY.

Quattrohaus (ask for Jose or Luie)
27 New York Ave
Newark, NJ 07105
973-491-9790

Edge Motors (ask for Sergey)
107 E. Railroad Ave
West Haverstraw, NY 10993
845-269-3846

Both of them did a good job but Edge Motors charges more reasonable and Sergey is just very knowledgeable about VW/Audi. I paid $975 (parts and labor) for a complete timing belt job on my 3.0 quattro and he finished it in 2.5 hours. The downside is he is a bit far from both of us (I lived in Somerset County).

Default Independent shops

Hi

Thanks for the fast reply, l'm getting tired of getting jerked around by the dealerships.

The shop in Newark is close to the train station but l would travel to Haverstraw if the job was big enough. I would just hate hanging around in Haverstraw.

Right now everything is ok but with an Audi who knows, my only mistake was getting the 3.0 quattro vert 2005 for my wife who now drives 100 miles 4x a week.

Yup, I feel the same way that's why after my warrenty expired I never go back to the dealer. For small jobs I usually go to one of my boys who used to be a technician at Ray Catena in Edison and he lived right across from it as well (right next to the PepBoys on Rt. 1 Edison). You bring your own parts and he charges very minimum fee to do it. PM me if you need his number.

For major jobs I used go to Quattrohaus but now I go to Edge Motors.
