iPod Connection - Best Buy or a different route?
Hey guys, I own a 2002 Audi A4 1.8t...I am looking to be able to connect my ipod/iphone4 to my car and play through there. The connection through the tape deck is horrible, and through the radio is even worse, lol.
I would like to have a usb hook up. I have seen the one on ECS tuning and it looked pretty sweet, that way I do not give up the factory radio and the look if I do end up selling the car down the road... but me not being mechanically inclined would not be able to install it.
I've also been considering getting a new head unit from best buy and just having them put it in. But I'm not sure if it'll hurt the sound, and it's obvious it'll hurt the stock look of the inside of the car if I go to sell in the future.
So two options...
-get the ECS tuning unit, keep the factory look/radio, and have my local shop install it...
-or, buy a new head unit from best buy, and have them install it and give up the factory radio.
I would like a few opinions and suggestions from you guys here who obviously know a lot more or people who may have had experience doing this.
Thoughts?

If you have the money go for a new head unit and have best buy do the instalation properly. Unless you have satellite radio or any other thing like that on the head unit is not worth keeping. I have an RNS-E on mine for sat nav, I know there's a really nice pioneer double din that loks almost stock and really neat. Good luck.

i just did the research because i am doing this... but im ordering this kit Dension GW16AC2 Gateway 100 Audi 20 Pin EnfigCarStereo.com and instaling it myself. The kit allows you to read the text on your display and go threw your ipod using the controls of the radio and have it away in your glove box. this is the video to instal it. Enfig's Channel - YouTube really easy to do... good luck
