i have a 04 a4 1.8tq with 69000 miles on it every time i drive it when i get to a red light or even if my car is sitting there in drive it idles real rough its so annoying i feel like im driving some cheap car. what can the problem be and how much will it cost to get fixed and is it easy enough to fix were i can do it my self (keep in mind i have no experience with cars) thanks

 

Have you switched out your plugs? Maybe a vaucum line. Is your CEL on?

spark plugs
vacuum leak
coilpacks (less likely)
bad engine mounts
and other stuff

 

i changed my plugs and coil packs and no my cel isnt on

 

I had a real slight vibration on my B6. I just happened to mention it to the dealership when I took it in for another warranty issue and sure enough they found something and now it idles smooth as butter. It was a mount underneath the car that only shifted every so often and caused a small shudder.

 

i just bought a warranty but i have to wait 60 days to use it

 

Did you purchase from dealer or someone else? I'm thinking to purchase one for my B6 3.0. Do you mind if I ask how much and what is covered?
