Default Just Brakes

Well, looks like my brakes need to be replaced and I am really not willing to pay the $500+ that the Audi dealer is asking for. I was considering doing it myself, but after doing it on my 2001 Mustang years back, I vowed to never do it again. It was too arduous of a process to do it again. Some friends have had some positive remakrs about the $99 Just Brakes service. I was wondering what were some of your experiences with them.

Thanks in advance...

I have gotten brakes changed at Just Brakes before, on a Honda Pilot, and that was a bad idea - the brakes make a lot of noise and honestly feel like they do not stop as well. Moreover, because they have that lifetime warranty from Just Brakes, everytime I take the car to them, they say everything is okay, despite the fact that the car feels funny. To be blunt, I won't go to them for work in the future, and I would recommend that you avoid them as well.

A $99 brake job means they are using cheapo pads and just slapping them in without even touching the rotors. It is not surprising there is noise and poor stopping. The dealers quote is for new Audi pads and new rotors. Even if you do it yourself I would highly recommend using Audi parts or at least the top line parts from Carquest (or equivelent). It will cost less in the long run.
