Default Just got 03, Sunroof won't stay closed.. Been in shop for week, help!

Alright so I just bought an 2003 A4 1.8T from my buddy.

He had the front wheel bearings replaced, changed out a motor in the passenger door window, and some other little things.

So I buy it from him, and the sunroof will not close all the way. You can turn the wheel control for the sunroof to the point before completely closed, and it will stay, but if you turn it all the way to be completely close it will reopen and go all the way back.

So I take it in, and they say that it's from someone standing up out of the sunroof and knocking it back... Knocking out some parts, and breaking some things.

So it's in there a week, and they say it will be done tomorrow. Now they're telling me it needs another cable, so I just told them to get it closed for tonight.

What do you think?

My sunroof recently would not close and it seems that it got crooked in the hole a little bid so when it tried to close it would lift up into the roof hole and jam and automatically reopen. I finally got it to close by helping it but you can see that the glass is a little farther forward on the driver side and less on the passenger.

When it first happened the sunshade appeared like it was jammed in the rear and caused it to bind.

Anyone heard of this before? I do not think my switch is bad since the timing or tracks look to be not in sink.

Looks like the OP has the possessed sunroof problem. The A4 mods link will do the trick.

Doesn't hurt to lightly spray the tracks with white lithium grease.
