i was reading the common problem thread and was wonderin what a cvt trans is. sorry if it seems like a retarded question. i just get a weird popping sound when i shift hard sometimes. and also was wonderin where the CTS sensor was also cause i get a lil stutter when i start it warm.

 

i know that CVT stands for countinous variable transmission, im not sure what the other is

 

CVT is available on a lot of cars now. There's no shifing, it's like one continuous gear so it's very fuel efficient just not built for torque.

The CTS is the coolant temperature sensor. If you hear your fans coming on at all or continue running for no reason at all that's the first thing to check/replace.
