changed pads brakes smoking and smell burnt!!!!!!:confused:

Exclamation changed pads brakes smoking and smell burnt!!!!!!:confused:

i changed the rear pads and now as i drive they tend to smoke and smell burnt metal HELP!!! what did i do wrong i followed the DIY on the forum to the T idk what to do or what i did wrong help!!!!

usaully its normal to hear some sqeeks or some smoke coming out right after the install.
everything should be gone after 15 of driving.
how is your car driving? do u feel like anything is holding it?

it feltlike a lil held idk and like when i clamped down the piston it didnt wanna go in anymore it was a super mission for the caliper to go back on dude i was like wtf i feel like maybe the pads are rubbing the entire time you know ?

First check to make sure you didn't twist your lines. Secondly (and what I think is more likely), a piston that is struggling to go back is a sign of a failing or failed caliper so you may need a new one. That would explain the burning smell because you pressed the brakes and pushed out the piston and now it won't go back in. Change that ASAP or you are going to need new rotors and pads too.
