hows it going, i need some help. when start my car and its in park the dash shows that its in park but when i put the car in D or Tip the PRNDS all come on with back light. however when i shut the car off and select P its fine, N its fine and S its fine. i can drive all day in S and itll be fine but as soon as i switch to D PRNDS comes on and than it stay on even if i put it in S. its clears when i restart the car and drive in S.

is it in limp mode? maybe something unplugged.


any advise on how i can fix this problem. fault code is

18161 - Tiptronic Switch (F189): Implausible Signal
P1753 - 003 - Mechanical Failure

You are not alone. I have this EXACT same code right now. If I find out any information I will let you know.

 

it helps i understand now what it could be, now i need to figure out where do start? the gear shifter the tranny or the engine..?
