Looking to buy an 03 1.8t and have some questions
Hey I just test drove an 03 A4 1.8t Quattro 5 speed today and I loved it. It has 106k miles and the water pump and timing belt were replaced around 86k. It was dirty but it didn't look like it leaked anything, just needed a good detailing and they want $7500 for it but I could probably get it for $7k. I just have a couple of questions. First of all there was a light on the dash for the headlights. The guy said he had taken it to the dealer and they said it was for auto-leveling the headlights and it didn't bother him because they still work. Then there's the drivers side window. You have to kinda play with the switch to get it to go all the way down. It goes down almost all the way and stops and you have to bring it up and then back down a couple of times which doesn't bother me but could that be a sign of a bigger electrical problem? What do you guys think I should do? Thanks in advance!
I just did some window repair on my 03 1.8t and its not really too bad it sounds like it either has a bad window regulator or just a bad button both of which a pretty easy fixes so that's not a sign of an electrical problem I don't think because I had a button go bad and a regulator so don't sweat the electrical
Thanks for the replies guys I'm seriously considering this. I just have to sell my current car first. Also the interior is pretty dirty. The cupholder on the dash and the little holder for cards or whatever don't come out on their own. Do they just need to be cleaned or replaced?
And if I pull the fuse for the headlight motor will the lights be pointed up and blind people?

The leveler warning will come on of the plug was disconnected and someone turned the key. It can be reset with vagcom and possibly by disconnecting the battery, plugging it in, and reconnecting the battery. The plugs are yellow and vertically-mounted just inboard of the headlight housings.
