Looking to buy an '03 A4 3.0, advice needed.
I'm going to check out at 2003 A4 3.0. This will be my first Audi, my old man worked for boardwalk audi in dallas for years, and european cars total for almost 30. I'm jumping into an audi after driving a '07 F-150, an '02 Chevy 1500, and now a 2003 Dakota R/T. The A4 has 126,xxx on it for the price of $7,000. It's a fairly reasonable price considering the shape of interior and exterior. But, considering my experience with strictly domestics, and working at O'Reillys, Audis are not my full comfort zone. What should I look for and ask about while looking at this car. Is the mileage a problem? What are common hickups at the mile mark? Sounds to listen for, transmission points of interest, handling capabilities, etc... I am hoping to get a good list in the next 24 hours if you guys can throw some info my way.
I just bought one -- 2003 A4 3.0 Quattro. $9000 -- but I immediately had to do the timing belt etc.
If you search on this forum you'll learn all you need. Stay away from the CVT transmission if you can -- search the forum. Any non-quattro is a CVT.
But I'm no expert -- search the forum.
SO far I love my car.
