Hey im new to this but im hoping someone can help, ive had my 2004 audi a4 for about a year now and ive noticed that when i accelerate in 1st gear it makes a loud sound i cant quite describe. its only in 1st gear though, just wanted to know if anyone had any ideas, thoughts, hints or tips please and thank you.

 

Well, first off, describe the noise. Kind of hard to diagnose something without symptoms... Is it a screeching sound? a thumping? a whine?

 

Its more of a high pitched whine when I accelerate then as soon as i shift into 2nd everythings fine. I've had a couple tubes amd venthose replaced last month. Any ideas?

 

sound like reverse? 1st gear normally whines a little because of how short the gear is.

try flushing and replacing the trans fluid
