Did the oil change on my Audi A4 1.8T 2005 in September the car had 119.613 km , today coming back from work the low oil level light appears on the dashboard , i got currently 122.400 , what the hell is going on , i checked the level on the dipstick and it s low so i added some oil i carry just in case something happen , with this few kms on it it s impossible , so i dont have a clue what is causing it , i always do my interval oil changes on the dealer , should i go there for they to top it of or it s a normal thing

 

It could be a normal thing, or it could be an oil leak. Do you notice any oil smell from inside the cabin? Are there any oil puddles under the car where you park it?

If I were you, I'd check your oil more often, probably every time you fill it up with gas.

 

I had this problem too. Last night driving home the low oil light came on, I stopped at a gas station and put some oil in it to make it home. I thought it might be a leak so this morning I pull my car up and notice a significant leak. The car has 114K miles... Is there a typical issue around this many miles?

I just had a coolant leak that typically happens at 110K miles. I haven't been successful in my search as to what's going on, any help is appreciated!

 

One spot older Audis are known to leak from, is the oil pressure switches. The leak appears between the spade connector and the body of the switch, and the only fix is to replace them. Take a good look around the oil filter area or the rear of the head where the switches usually are.

 

My money is on the Oring for the oil cooler (where the filter screws on), happened to my old b5. That is if this was the only variable change from it being okay to the oil change.

 

If the old oil filter was made too tight, there is a good chance that when it was removed it loosened up the oil cooler. If the leak is from around the oil cooler, remove the oil filter and tighten up the large nut that holds the cooler against the engine. At this time would be a good idea to replace the large "O" ring between the cooler and the engine. This may require a trip to an Audi dealer because most part stores do not stock the "O" ring.

 

so count me in this club where there is a huge loss of oil in a very short amount of time/miles. i mean 6 days and 250 mile difference... i just got my oil level sensor replaced last week and since then no beeps. now i jump in my car tonight and low oil?!?!?! looked behind the engine, there's a pile of oil sludge burnt onto what i would guess is the tranny but cant tell because it's so damn thick. fml...

 

In all the years that VW-Audi has been in business, they still don't know how to build a car that does not leak oil after a few years of use. It is embarrassing considering how proudly they tout the German engineering. lol

 

if your losing oil quickly check around your engine. Alot of times it might be the valve cover gasket leaking. Just saying you know?

 

I had my mechanics check it out. They said that I was never low. Don't know why my sensor sent the code. Found out my head gasket has a leak though
