Default METRA 70-1787 doesn't fit....

Hi, I own an 2003 A4 3.0 and want to put in an after market h/u (Clarion VX400). I ordered the radio from Crutchfield and they sent everything I would need to install the radio. I, instead brought it ot the local install shop. They took one look at the wiring harness and told me it wouldn't work. They popped my factory radio and showed me that the pins in the "red rectangular" plug would not match up to the METRA 70-1787 wiring harness. The issue is that thewiring harness plug has 3 rows of 2 pins, the middle row being offset from the others. The factory wiring harness has the same 3 rows of 2 pins, but they are aligned in 2 straight rows.
Has anyone experienced this before? Is there a wiring harness that will work in this application?
My main reason for putting in an aftermarket radio is to get SIRIUS SAT into the car. I don't want, nor do I like the FM modulated versions. Will a SAT ready factory radio fit into this year? If yes, where could I find one? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
