Misfiring Problems

Default Misfiring Problems

The other day I was sitting at a stop light and my car started idling funny I go to take of and the car starts losing power and and is kinda jerky and sputters a little bit check engine light flashes at me I go check it out its says cylinder 3 and 4 is misfiring so I change spark plugs didn't help so I then replaced all 4 coil packs as well it fixes the problem runs great for 2 day then I start it up to go to work one morning does the same thing again take it to autozone check the code its cylinder 1 this time so I exchange out that coil pack for another its runs good for another half hour same problem go check code next day its now Cylinder 1 & 2 replace again same thing I don't know where to go from here tried running injector cleaner as well and seafoam nothing

Can someone please help!? its the 1.8t

Sounds like the coilpacks. Pretty sure they are recalled, and free from the dealer.

So even though I got new ones?? but then I guess autozone ones are prob junk anyways

the ones you got from autozone might not have been the "new" coil pack design. they changed some part of it (not sure what) to make sure that they dont fail every 50k.go to the dealer and pick up some free ones.

I had this problem occur today too. do you know if they will replace them at any time or only if it is still under warranty

So I took it to the dealership to have the recall done on it so that was free they replaced my coil packs for free but said they weren't the problem it was the autolite double platinum spark plugs I got they said they dont work well in our cars so after $14 dollars a plug later my car runs perfect

So I would start with that

ive been running autolite double platinum for a trouble free year and 10k miles.it was the coil packs, and the dealer just made $60 from you

It was probably the shitty coils..... foulded shitty plugs...... Needed both
