The dealer told me that my water pump is leaking. I've read that I should replace the water pump along with the timing belt and tensioner, but I'm only at 60K miles. Is it worth it to replace the water pump now or can it wait? It doesn't appear to be a very big leak.

i had a leak replaced for coolant recently too, it was the coolant flange...? anyway dealer acted like it was a normal occurance.

Is that all you have to do for the water pump? Does it need to be replaced?

Anyone have any opinions on the need to replace the water pump? Does it need to be done now? I'm not sure if this is a major issue or not.

Leaking water pump is not good at all. It might cause your timing belt to fail... You better fix that asap if you have a chance.

How does the water pump affect the timing belt?

The coolant leak seems to be a common occurance. Apparently one of the coolant pipes was plastic and cracking on a lot of vehicles, which has been replaced by a metal one.
