Nav Screen ruined
Someone tried to clean the nav screen and I don't know what they used, but there is a smudge (or fogging) of the screen that I can seem to get out. They might have used alcohol. Any ideas how to restore it? Is the screen itself replaceable? 2006 A4 Cab Q. Thanks for any help.
Is it possible they used armorall on it while trying to clean the rest of the console? If so, you may just have to keep cleaning it with a window cleaner. Or you could try using some vinegar and water, and instead of a rag or paper towel, use newspaper.
Why newspaper??? That would spread ink and all other sorts of paper chems onto the screen.
If you can't get the marks off with a wet paper towel then chances are they used some sort of cleaner with a solvent and it damaged the surface, hence what you have. I don't think the screens themselves can be replaced but it would not hurt to pull the unit out and send it to TV repair shop... I'd make some phone calls first and ask before going through the trouble of removing it.

REALLY??? Ummm, OK I'll try it lol but I would have never guessed it!
Newspaper works well because it isn't standard paper...it's newsprint. Just make sure you use the black and white sections. If I'm not mistaken, most publishers use a cheaper, soy-based ink for colors; which does have a chance of bleeding.
