Need help, car is always low on engine oil.
i drive a4 b6 02' 3.0l, i have 2 problems.
1. My car has been showing the low engine oil warning around every 700 miles and i've been filling up a quart which i guess lasts me an estimate of 700 miles before the light comes on again, what can possibly be wrong with my car.
Before this problem, i had a mechanic that fixed an oil leak that i've had for a long time, i don't remember the details but it always ended up with my driveway having a foot's length size pool of oil.
2. My 2nd problem is that my windshield washer jets are really weak, when i hit the spray button, it squirts at most 4 inches, doesn't even reach half way past my windshield, what could be the cause of this and what can i do to fix it. I've tried using a toothpick to clear up the holes but that didn't improve it.
Thanks for reading

And pa4ul , i did try to clear it up with a toothpick, didn't work, i guess i'll try again with a needle
What was the leak that was fixed....? 3.0L aren't really big oil leakers. They used to have leaks from the tensioners, The bolts come loose and work their way out and dig into the housings... but you would be puddling oil under the car
Edit: sorry didn't answer the first part, but No, no leaks or puddles since i took it to the mechanic, i don't smell any burning oil either.
Also i just called my mechanic and he's like just keep filling it up the engine oil, it's ok..... as long as it runs lol...... maybe i shouldn't bring my car to him anymore. I asked him about why it leaked in the first place and he said it was because the engine overheated before and the header was where it was leaking from and he has since, changed the header or fixed it or something. I've never been hands on with cars, but i guess i'll start somewhere today...

Yea that guy sounds like a waste of space. I'd take it to a Euro shop or even a dealer.
The dealer will be expensive. But just pay the diagnosis, and shop around the repair. Compare prices. Cheapest isn't always best, especially with European cars. A "Good" deal is what you should be looking for

Cam Seals are notorious for leaking oil. I've had two or three replaced. I have a 1.8L turbo and a plastic elbow that is mounted on top of the oil filter assembly cracked and crumbled.
Don't let a mechanic tell you "that's what they do" or "just keep filling it up." It's not supposed to leak. They are just lazy and don't wanna look for the problem.
