I seemed to have damaged my ac compressor pulley for my 02 A4 1.8T quattro (AMB) while replacing my accessory belt. I believe it's chewing up every belt I replace because one of the grooves looks warped. According to the audi dealer parts dept, the part is available separate from the AC compressor and they want to charge me $400 for it ($800 for the whole compressor). I can find AC compressors online for about $330, but I just want the pulley and can't find it. Can anyone help?

 

I ended up shelling out $400 for a new pulley. I found out the hard way that there are two types for the '02 A4 1.8T quattro. Since there are two engine models for the 02 year, mine needed the "spline" type pulley. If you can, note the a/c compressor model number before ordering your new pulley, if you're in the market for one.
