Got the CEL a few days ago. Went to mechanic to get code, got the p0171 for system too lean. Mechanic only had time to get the code and couldn't take a look at it. I popped the hood and found a tube with cracks. If this was the only issue, is it an easy DIY, or would it require taking the front bumper out and take hours. Can someone give me an opinion on this? Mechanic said it would cost 50-100 to diagnose the code and then more to fix it. Its a 2003 a4 1.8 Quattro.

thats a mass air flow sensor. and whats cracked is the rubber seal/cover for the wires.
