NEED SOME HELP FAST!!
ok guys i need some answers QUICK!!! i have the chance to purchase a used giac chip for a steal. it came off an 2003 Audi Avant Quattro 1.8T, i have a 2003 a4 sedan 1.8tq, will this chip be compatible?? this is a solder on style chip not a flashed ecu, so my question is WILL IT WORK?? Im really wanting a chip and this is a great deal. thanks.

You going to solder it in yourself? The chip will work, but not if you're just swapping ECU's. The immobilizer function will prevent that from happening.
But you'd better be solid with the electronics. I'll do pretty much anything myslef, but I'd never attempt soldering a chip.

No im not soldering the chip im just trying to pick it up cheap, then have a shop solder it in. To claify im not swapping the ECUs im just getting the chip which has been removed from the previous car. WILL IT WORK??

Well i got the chip and its supposed to be here tomorrow. my question to yall is what can i do or what kind of place can i take it to get it soldered in?? theres not any GIAC dealers in austin but there are some other shops that specialize in audi/vdubs, one or two of which sell APR, yall think theyd do it?? im still a little sketchy about it bc i dont know what octane 91 or 93 (everyone think 93) or what tranny it came out of, think 5 speed...anywaysn ill let yall know what happens.

ya i really dont know if it will work... but i would do what audiprotein said and call the APR place and see if it will work on your car cuz its was on a tip tranny and also if they are willing do solder it on for you pending that it will work. good luck!
