So i'm new to the whole audi thing. I'm looking into purchasing an a4 b6 quattro with an auto tranny.

I'm getting the impression that the cvt is indeed the tranny and a piece o crap. And I'm also under the impression that it is indeed the automatic transmission. I just wasn't sure if it was the same transmission that was used in the awd as well as the fwd audi a4's.

Any info is much appreciated

 

CVT's are only used for front wheel drive. Quattro models use a ZF tiptronic transmission which aren't any worse than any other automatic transmission.
