No ac! Econ light! Have codes!
OK, So I've had NO AC this entire summer and I'm from DC so it's not pretty. I finally was able to get some fault codes thanks to a new friend, and I'm looking for anyone's advice on how to correct it.
Problem:
ECON light stays on and there is no AC. Fan Blows well, but just no compressor action. Cannot turn ECON light off.
Fault Codes:
17522 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor; B1 S2: Internal Resistance too High
P1114 - 008 - Implausible Signal - Intermittent
00819 - High Pressure Sensor (G65)
29-00 - Short to Ground
Clues:
1.) The VAG-COM is reading a 1.0 pressure of FREON which is strange because I have an external guage which reads it as full. I even let FREON out, which came out under pressure, and refilled it again (with engine running), so I believe that is a false reading.
2.) AS STRANGE AS THIS SOUNDS, I can get the AC to work if I drive for exactly 20 minutes, then immediately park for exactly 5 minutes. When doing that first drive of the day I have COLD COLD AC for upto an hour and a half until I park the car for an extended period of time!
Diagnosis:
I think my first bet is to replace the High Pressure Sensor. However could it be something else? Anybody have any experience with any of these issues?!?
