Lightbulb Oil pressure light is on. car runs fine though..need advice please.

I have a 2004 1.8T, my oil pressure light came on and was beeping yesterday luckily I was 2 min away from home so i drove the car slowly but surely into the garage, my temp was fine though. looked around the engine couldnt find any leaks or obvious problems. I talked to my mechanic whos been working on VW/Audis all his life and he told me that this is a common occurance for these cars and that its okay to drive. but i dont trust him enough to take her back on the road. any suggestions for what i should do? maybe look for? to troubleshoot what it could be? i have a small coolant leak because my coolant flange is started to give out does that have any impact on it maybe? i took it this morning for a test drive around my block and the light only came on and started beeping once the car warmed up

- had the oil and filter changed about a week ago

any advice would be appreciated thanks.

Its very possible it is the "oil pick up tube". They like to clog up. Mine clogged up after 136k (02 a4 1.8), my brothers 03 a4 1.8 was clogged at 128k. I would be scared to drive it with the oil pressure light on it. Thats how I blew my turbo (only drove 15-20 miles with the light on). Biggest mistake I ever made with this car and so I highly recommend getting a new pick up tube and tow it wherever you want to have it done. i know a great shop in CT if you are in the area....

Mechanical Advantage in Barkhamsted, CT -- they are the BEST people to go to with VW/Audis in my opinion

Yea that's what I suspected after reading up on it. Was this a recall for the Audi a4? And how much was it to fix approx.
